Directions to the Clinic

The Psychology and Social Work Clinic is located in Porter Hall, which is a six (6)-story building facing Richland Avenue.  Porter Hall is beside Grover Center, which is directly across the street from the Convocation Center.  The Clinic is in the basement of Porter Hall, Suite 002, which is to your left as you enter through the rear entrance of the building. 

Athens has four exits off highways 33/50.  Take the exit for Route 682 North and Ohio University.  At the light at the bottom of the ramp turn Right onto Richland Avenue.  You will cross over the Hocking River.  The next intersection is Richland Avenue and South Green Drive.  Turn Right at this light.  (You will see a small log cabin on the left before you make this turn.  This is the Ohio University Visitors Center and you are welcome to stop there for further direction, a parking permit, and parking instructions.)  Traveling on South Green Drive, you will take the first Left, onto Oxbow Trail.  This street has Emeritus Park on the right and a large parking lot on the left.  Follow Oxbow past Grover until you come to the next Left, which is parking lot 120.  Turn into this parking lot and proceed to the rear of the middle building (Porter) where you will find several parking spaces marked “Clinic Parking”.  You are now directly behind Porter Hall.  You may enter the building through the entrance in the middle of the building.  The lobby has an elevator and the corridor to the left is where you will find the Clinic. 

Parking

There is limited parking behind Porter Hall and university parking regulations are vigorously enforced. Because client cars have been ticketed and even towed, we make every effort to educate clients about the parking situation. As a result, we mail parking information to new clients, including the availability of Clinic resources (parking permit hangtags for designated Clinic/Wellworks spots), as well as maps identifying potential lots where Clinic parking is permitted. There is a sign on the reception desk reminding clients who drive to their appointments to ask for a parking hangtag; hangtags can be signed out from the reception desk. As we have a limited number of these tags and they are essential, they must be returned when the client's session is completed.

You MUST have a parking permit to park on campus.  These can be obtained from the Clinic, the Visitors Center or the Department of Campus Safety Division.
