Research Interests:

Although Dr. Ogles is currently serving as the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, http://www.cas.ohiou.edu/deans/default.asp, he maintains an active research agenda in the area of psychotherapy research.

Dr. Ogles major research efforts have centered on the evaluation of psychotherapy effectiveness and the construction of clinical outcome measures. He has written two books, Essentials of Outcome Assessment and Assessing Outcome in Clinical Practice concerning outcome assessment in practice and has designed and evaluated The Ohio Youth Problems, Functioning, and Satisfaction Scales (The Ohio Scales). The Ohio Scales have been adopted by the State of Ohio for use in evaluating public mental health services for children and adolescents. Additionally, The Ohio Scales are in various stages of pilot testing by managed care providers along with other publicly funded mental health systems in several other states to document the effectiveness of mental health services.
